U.S. stocks retreat after extended climb

U.S. STOCKS RETREAT AFTER EXTENDED CLIMB
U.S. stocks fall as investors pause from a long run higher, with
energy shares hit the hardest as Greece's debt troubles bolster the
U.S. dollar's appeal, denting commodity prices.

SHARES OF US AIRWAYS, UAL CLIMB ON MERGER REPORTS
Shares of both US Airways and UAL climb in morning activity on reports
the carriers are in early merger talks after a nearly two-year break.

LEGACY AIRLINES LOSE HOME-FRONT TO BUDGET CARRIERS
U.S. legacy carriers said international air travel boosted sales in
March but that they are losing ground at home to low-cost airlines, a
trend that is pushing them into the role of what the industry calls
trunk carriers.

BRITISH AIRWAYS, IBERIA INK MERGER PACT
British Airways and Iberia sign a merger pact, with the combined group
to be called International Airlines Group.

BRITISH AIRWAYS TRAFFIC SLUMPS 11% AFTER STRIKE
British Airways on Wednesday reported a tumble in March traffic after
two cabin-crew strikes as rival Ryanair Holdings saw a big jump.
