U.S. STOCKS MAINTAIN GAINS AFTER ECONOMIC DATA
Stocks hold on to gains as reports show that home prices fell at a
slower annual rate in October and that U.S. consumers turned more
optimistic in December.
EUROPE STOCKS CLIMB AS YEAR-END PUSH CONTINUES
Stocks advance in thin conditions, with the few traders active pushing
up the market to new multi-month highs.
TUESDAY'S BIGGEST GAINING AND DECLINING STOCKS
Among the shares expected to see active trade in Tuesday's session are
those of the major U.S. brokerages as well as AIG, Fairchild
Semiconductor, Imperial Sugar, and Vivus.
U.S. CONSUMER CONFIDENCE RISES AGAIN
Consumer confidence rises for the second straight month in December,
as more Americans expect the nation's economy to improve in 2010, but
the increase comes in not quite as strong as had been forecast, the
Conference Board's latest survey data show.
